One of Them Days is a 2025 comedy
movie directed by Lawrence Lamont and written by Syreeta Singleton. The cast includes
Keke Palmer, Sza, Patrick Cage, Maude Apatow, Vanessa Bell Calloway and several
others. Keke Palmer brings her magnetic energy to this fast-movie and Sza was a
natural in what seems to be her acting debut.
The movie kicks off when best
friends and roommates Dreux and Alyssa get a visit from the landlord Uche to
pay up the rent. They realise that Alyssa's boyfriend, Keshawn has squandered
their rent money. The two friends must race against the clock to avoid eviction
on the same day whilst navigating issues in their friendship and relationships.
I loved the friendship between
Dreux and Alyssa even when they had to tell each other the bitter truth about
certain situations. I think it is good that true friends can tell each other
the truth and reconcile when they go through a rough patch.
The relationship between Alyssa
and Keshawn was a prime example of how people are in relationships that should
have ended a long time ago. She needed to see her worth and I am glad she did
eventually. Keke and Maniac on the other hand were a good example of why you
should not judge a book by its cover. I loved the plot twist with Maniac.
Overall, it was a fast-paced
comedy movie with a few good lessons in there that the audience could gain
from. There was quite some use of profanity so it may not be suitable for a
younger audience.

While the storyline was okay, it didn’t stand out as much as I hoped it would. Unfortunately, the acting performances felt a bit sub-par, and they didn’t quite deliver the emotional depth the film seemed to be aiming for.
Overall, it wasn’t a bad watch, but it didn’t live up to the potential the cast brought to the table."
